
Low-Carb Hot Dog
A hot dog , who doesn't love it?
A delicious soft bun with a crispy sausage and a sauce of your choice. Today, the hot dog is no longer the boring quick bite you buy at a stall in the city. More and more you see special and luxurious variations in restaurants and on the internet.
Coming up with a recipe for a luxury low-carb hot dog had been on our to-do list for a while. Yesterday I took the time to work out the recipe and I finally managed to make this special sandwich. Make your own hot dog sandwich The biggest challenge in making a low-carb hot dog sandwich is the bun. You really have to make the bun yourself. It is not possible to use a ready-made ball or pistol. I tried several recipes and finally opted for a variant with almond flour and psyllium fibres. The buns are slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
I filled the sandwiches with a ready-made raw vegetable mix and a BBQ hot dog. A delicious combination of soft, spicy and fresh. Ingredients
Sandwiches 1 egg (M) white of 1 egg (M)
100 gr almond flour
40 gr melted butter
2 tbsp psyllium fiber or 1 tbsp psyllium powder
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp xanthan gum
1/4 tsp salt
60 ml lukewarm water hotdogs 3 fresh hot dogs or frankfurters 75 gr raw vegetable mix with cabbage
1 tbsp olive oil mustard to taste sugar-free ketchup to taste
Preparation method
Sandwiches. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Beat the whole egg and whites together with an electric mixer. While mixing, add the remaining bun ingredients to the bowl. Beat the contents of the bowl to a smooth and even dough. Divide the dough into three balls and shape each ball into a pistolet shape with your hands.
Wet your hands if necessary to make it easier to shape the bun. Place the formed balls on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes. hot dog. After baking, let the buns cool completely and then cut a small notch in the center of the bun.
Remove some of the dough in the bun to make room for the hot dog. Prepare the hot dogs or frankfurters according to the instructions on the package. Divide the raw vegetables among the buns and place a hot dog in each bun. Garnish the hot dog with sugar-free ketchup, mustard and any other sauces to taste. Serve and enjoy!
