Cream Cheese Keto Brownies

Keto Brownies with a thick cheesecake swirl that are ultra fudgy! You'd never guess this was a low-carb brownie recipe!

My favorite Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake Brownies are one of the most popular recipes on this site, and for good reason! They're delectable!

Since I've been experimenting with the Keto diet, I wanted to create something similar but with far fewer carbs.

These Keto Cheesecake Brownies have a fudgy, rich low-carb brownie base with a sweet, thick cheesecake swirl. They're ideal for when you want a low-carb dessert!

Ingredients for Keto Cream Cheese Brownies

The most amazing cheesecake filling is swirled into these keto chocolate brownies. Here are the ingredients you'll need to make these simple keto brownies:

  • Butter

  • Swerve granulated sugar substitute

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder

  • Eggs

  • Salt

  • Almond flour

  • Cream cheese

  • Heavy cream

  • Vanilla extract

Can I Substitute a Different Grain-Free Flour?
No, almond flour is required in this keto chocolate brownie recipe.

Can I Use a Different Sugar Substitute?
Perhaps, but I can't say for sure. Swerve (and monkfruit sweeteners) have worked well for me, and they are my go-to sweetener for baking.

Can I Substitute an Egg?
Perhaps, but I've only made the keto brownies exactly as written.

Cream Cheese Keto Brownies:

How to Make Them

  1. This is one of my all-time favorite low-carb cream cheese desserts! I know it's a bold statement. Here's a quick rundown of how to make these low-carb brownies:

  2. Combine the melted butter, Swerve sugar substitute, and cocoa powder in a mixing bowl.

  3. Then add the eggs, almond flour, and salt.

  4. Place the brownie batter in an 8-inch baking dish lined with parchment paper.

  5. Blend the cream cheese, Swerve sugar substitute, heavy cream, and vanilla extract in a blender or food processor.

  6. Swirl the cheesecake mixture into the brownie batter in lumps. Bake until the brownies are firm.

Can I leave out the cheesecake swirl?

You can omit the cheesecake swirl if you want to make classic keto brownies. You'll still need to bake the brownies until they're just set, but no longer. You want the brownies to be nice and fudgy in the end!

What Are the Net Carbohydrates in Keto Brownies?
These brownies are baked in an 8-inch square baking pan. They have 2.4 net carbs when cut into 9 equal squares. I prefer to cut them even smaller, into 18 little rectangles, for a total of 1.2 net carbs per slice.

When my sweet tooth strikes, I like to cut them smaller so that if I come back for seconds, I haven't done too much damage! Serve these with cold almond milk or a warm cup of coffee for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up!

Keto Brownies: How to Store Them
Once completely cool, store these keto fudge brownies in an airtight container in the fridge. They will last for up to a week.

Is it possible to freeze the brownies?
Yes! These keto brownies store well in the freezer. Allow them to cool completely to room temperature before sealing them in a freezer bag or freezer-safe container.

When ready to eat, thaw overnight in the fridge or gently reheat in the oven.

How to Make the Best Keto Brownies

You will make a nice fudgy brownie batter for these brownies. It will be quite thick, so make sure to spread it evenly all the way to the corners when you scrape it into your baking pan.

Because the cheesecake filling is also thick, creating a really pretty swirl effect is difficult; simply swirl the mixture as best you can while being careful not to overmix it so you get those nice big cheesecake layers.

Longer baking times were reported by some readers. I've made this low-carb brownie recipe several times and always take them out of the oven around the 25-30 minute mark, even though my oven thermometer reads a true 350 degrees F.

Cooking times will vary depending on the thickness of your brownies, the cheesecake swirl, the color of your pan, and whether or not you use convection.
